Representative political interests of CIMAC (m/f/d)
CIMAC is the leading global non-profit association promoting the development of ship propulsion, train drive and power generation. The association consists of National Member Associations and Corporate Members in America, Asia and Europe. CIMAC provides a forum for technical interchange with all parties interested in piston engines, gas turbine systems, non-shaftline propulsion systems, automation and controls, system integration and digitalization solutions. The General Secretariat is held by the VDMA.
You are up for the challenge ...
- Events: Represent CIMAC and VDMA at meetings organized by legislative bodies such as IMO and EU and events relevant to the industry sector, e.g. London International Shipping week and SMM in Hamburg
- Networking: Create and maintain a network with important representatives of the above-mentioned legislative bodies
- Evaluation: Monitor, review and evaluate regulatory developments and communicate with member companies
- Faciliation: Support and steer cross-functional collaboration and knowledge transfer with representatives of member companies, internal working groups and representatives of legislative bodies, in particular the IMO
- Risk Assessment: Identify business risks and opportunities created by the development of regulatory through market research and analysis and communicate towards and discuss with member companies
- Promotion: Advertise CIMAC and VDMA activities towards the industry sector and attract new members
... with dedication and know-how
- University degree in international business, European politics, law, engineering, or comparable qualification
- Proven experience in advising and leading different stakeholders
- Preferably experience in the marine industry as well as good working understanding of the maritime regulatory framework
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, intercultural competencies as well as problem-solving attitude and hands-on mentality
- Knowledge of automation and digitization technologies for shipping
- Existing network with relevant maritime authorities desirable
- Solid experience with IMO structures, meetings and processes as well as other supranational institutions
- Willingness to travel, in particular within Europe
- Experience of business management or consulting desirable
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams towards common goals
- (Very) good command of the English language, German beneficial
