Fresenius has had its own office in Brussels since 2019 in order to actively participate in the political discourse at European level and effectively represent the interests of the company and its business segments.
 
European legislation already has a significant influence on Fresenius' business activities. Brussels is a key centre for shaping economic, industrial and environmental policy - and increasingly also healthcare policy. In the coming years, the importance and impact of European legislation will continue to grow, making a strong local presence and involvement all the more important.
 
To strengthen our office in Brussels, we are looking for a (Junior) Manager Governmental Affairs Europe to start as soon as possible.
 
Tasks/activities:
 
The tasks cover a wide range of activities, from technical/content-related to administrative.
  • Monitoring and analysing policy and regulatory developments at EU level,
  • Preparation of briefings, presentations, background papers and summaries on relevant topics,
  • Preparation, organisation and follow-up of discussions with political decision-makers (e.g. EU Commission, Parliament, Permanent Representations),
  • Participation in events, hearings and conferences.
  • Support in office management (e.g. material procurement).
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Completed university degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in political science, economics, public affairs or a comparable subject
  • First experiences in the political environment in Brussels – ideally, but not necessarily, in the field of health policy
  • Very good knowledge of the functioning and functioning of the European institutions
  • Confident handling in the political environment
  • Team player, communicative and open in dealing with others
  • Languages: German native speaker/ business fluent; Fluent in English; ideally knowledge of other EU languages – preferably French
  • Independent and responsible work, initiative
  • Quickly grasp new topics and present complex issues
  • Confident and authoritative appearance – both internally and towards external stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel on business and to participate in evening events
  • Experienced in dealing with the common MS 365 applications.
