Manager at EU Affairs Team (Business Development)

We are seeking a Brussels-based Manager to join our business development team.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in EU Affairs, some experience in business development, excellent communication skills, and be capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently. If you thrive in a fast-paced setting and are excited by new challenges, this role could be a great fit for you.

Main tasks and responsibilities will include
- Proactively identifying and prospecting new business partners via closely monitoring the EU Affairs market
- Setting up and running business development meetings (independently after an initial orientation period)
- Proposing relevant campaigns and communications actions and closing partnership deals
- Managing satisfying relations with existing clients
- Working closely and in cooperation with other Euractiv departments - Events, Multimedia, Project management, Marketing
- Monitoring results according to budget
Job requirements / profile
- Strong understanding of EU policy making process and stakeholder dynamics (corporations, institutions, think tanks, foundations and NGOs)
- At least 3 years of experience with a proven track record of business development/fundraising for corporate clients, trade associations, public affairs/communication consultancies, NGOs, start-ups or advertising agencies
- A University degree
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Purposes-driven and motivated by challenging targets and results
- Strong organisational skills with strategic thinking
- Excellent social, communication, networking and negotiation skills and team spirit, with a hands-on and solutions-driven work mentality
- Eager to learn about media industry and media business
- Tech-savvy (internet, mobile, social media)
- Interested in working as an independent contractor
What we offer:
This is a full-time employment contract under Belgian law (“contrat à durée indéterminée”), with salary and responsibilities commensurate to the candidate’s level of experience.
