Copa-Cogeca, the leading voice of farmers and agri-cooperatives at the EU level, is looking for a motivated EU Project Officer to join our dynamic and multicultural team.

The Project Officer will play a crucial part in managing impactful projects that shape the future of agriculture and forestry across Europe. the Project Officer will work alongside experienced experts, gain valuable insights into the EU policy development, and contribute to forward-looking initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage EU projects, ensuring timely execution and adherence to tasks, budgets and goals, under the coordination of a senior member of our team.
  • Support the day-to-day execution of project tasks, activities and deliverables in line with the grant agreement requirements and goals.
  • Collaborate with our Communication team to effectively communicate and disseminate project outcomes to diverse audiences.
  • Build strong cooperation with Copa and Cogeca members, and external stakeholders across the EU to facilitate long term impact of project outcomes.
  • Organise and facilitate meetings, workshops, and conferences in the framework of the EU projects in the portfolio.
  • Prepare and deliver project presentations, reports, and promotional materials
  • Liaise with colleagues and policy experts to integrate project activities with ongoing policy work, ensuring comprehensive and informed project outputs.
  • Participate in desk research and survey design to gather relevant information and data relating to project activities, and analyse results and write comprehensive deliverables
  • Ensure all project files are maintained and kept up to date  
  • Carry out any other tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in EU project management, EU affairs, economics, agriculture, communication, or a related field.
  •  > 1 year experience in managing EU-funded projects, including idealisation, implementation, and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of EU institutions and research programmes (Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe).
  • Interest in advocating and representing the voice of farmers and Agri-cooperatives at EU level
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional European languages are an advantage.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Experience managing social media and writing newsletters are and advantage
  • Team player with proactive approach and ability to work independently
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.
